Freeman E. Jackson and Co.’s stock report (telegraphed on the 6fch to the Mail from Wanganui; is as follows : —The yards at Waverley were fairly well filled with both cattle and sheep, and we placed nearly all that came forward. At Wanganui yards today bidding was better than of late, and we sold nearly all out. - Prices are without change. Our quotations are as follow : Cattle—At Waverley: Forward bullocks, £4 4s ; good steers, £3 4s to £3 19s Gd: calves, 14s; woaners, 25s to 265. At Wanganui r Fat cows, <£3 6s to £3 17s 6d ; store bullocks, <£3 12s 6d to £3 15s ; steers, <£2; calves, 15s. Sheep—At Waverley: Fat ewes, 7s 8d; young breeding ewes, 6s to, 6s 3d ; old ewes, 2s to 2s 6d ; steer wethers, 7s ; lambs, Is 4d. At Wanganui: Wethers, 7s 9d to 8s 8d ; voung ewes, 6s to 7s 2d ; others, 4s 2d to 5s 10d; old ewes, Is to 2s Id; lambs, Is 8d to 2s 9d; . rams, 7s 6d to 20s. Pigs—Small baconers. 26s 6d to. 30s ; good porkers, 19s to 23s ; small porkers, 14s 6d to 16s ; small pigs, 5s 6d to 6s 3d. The following is the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s report of the Addington market (telegraphed on the 6th to the Mail) :-r-Fat cattle—Moderate supply met fair competition. Prime beef, 20s to ,21s per 1001 b-; second-class do., 16s 6d to 17s 6d. Store cattle —190 yarded, including some useful bullocks, which were
withdrawn at T 4 32s Gd. Small cattle commanded fair competition. Dairy cows sold up to T 9. Fat sheep—46oo penned; competition fair; values on par with last week’s. Prime freezers, 9s to 11s 4d; crossbred ewes, 53 to 9s ; merino ewes, 2s Gd to 6s. Fat lambs —IO9O penned * competition for prime softs steady.; values, 9s to 11S ; light and inferior, 5s td 7s. Store sheep—About 6000 yarded; demand dull and prices slightly easier ; crossbred lambs, 3s 6d to 5s ; 2-tooth, 6s to 7s 6d ; crossbred ewes, 5s to 6s 6d ; aged do,, Is 6d to 3s 6d. Pigs—3lo penned ; porkers and baconers, fair competition; values, 31-d to 3fd per lb ; stores dull.
