LATE COMMERCIAL.
Freeman R. Jackson and Co.’s stock report (telegraphed on Dec. 12 to the Times from Wanganui) is as follows : —We had a fair entry of stock at Waverley, and we sold nearly all out. At Wanganui we disposed of the bulk of the cattle, which were without change as to values. Sheep were on the whole dull of sale, i Pigs sold in favour of the vendors. Cattle. —At Waverley : Three-year-old steers, .£3 10s to £4 13s; two-year-old. .£2 14s to <£3; cows, £2 to £3 ; milch cows, <£4 10s to £8 8s ; yearlings, 32s 6d to 445. At Wanganui : Two-year-old steers, £2 16s to £3 12s 6d ; three-year-old steers, £4 4s ; cows, £3 to £5 2s. ! Sheep—At Waverley: Fat wethers, 9s ; fat ewes, 8s lid to 9s ; hoggets, 8s 3d to 8s 6d. At Wanganui : Fat wethers, 9s 7d to 9s lid ; stores, in wool, 11s 6d; fat ewes. 4s 6d to 7s 3d ; hoggets, 6s 9d to 9s 6d ; fat lambs, ,7s. Pigs—Baconers, 42s to 44s ; porkers, 19s to 26s 6d ; small pigs, 8s 9a to 11s 6d.
The following is the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s report of the Addington market (telegraphed on Dec. 12 to the Times) : —Beef : Full supply and prices easier all Iround. Steers, £7 to £9 ; cows and heifers, £5 10s to £7, or 17s to 21s per lOOlbs. Store cattle —250 yarded,
fair enquiry at late rates; dairy cows, good sorts, £,l Ids to £9. Store sheep : —3ooo penned, demand somewhat improved; 2tooths, 7s to 9s 9d ; 4-tooths to 10s 6d. Fat lambs—sso penned, competition keen, prices, prime sorts, 10s 6d to 13s Id : inferior, 8s to 9s. Fat sheep, 4300 penned; the majority crossbred ewes, which exceeded the requirements of the trade, consequently prices were easier for second-class. Mutton—For prime wethers, fair enquiry; ewes made -7s to 12s ; merino wethers, 6s 6d; crossbred wethers, 12s to 13s 6d; extra weights, 14s to 15s 9d. THE WOOL MARKET. - Auckland, December 12. . At the wool sales there was a fall in prices of from fd to Id per lb in coarser sorts, and id to |d in fine wool. Crossbred brought 5Jd to 7id; merino, s?d ; long wool, 6d ; halfbred, 7d to 7|d; locks and pieces, lid' to sd. Over 300 bales were offered this morning.
