REPORTED GOLD DISCOVERY.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, March 23. A discovery of gold iu Alameda licensed holding, Puhipuhi, is reported. The first stone assayed yielded, it is said, 230 z of gold per ton, and a party of several persons then went out to the field and broke down the reef, finding rich gold-bearing stoue. The claim is next to tne prospectors’. Shares in the Alameda have rapidly risen in price.
