Mr Munro, Premier, has decided that 2nd March will be the most suitable day for the assembling of the Federal Convention at Sydney. The Cabinet has decided fo recommend the other colonies to accept the terms of the Eastern Extension Company for a reduction of cable rates, provided the guarantee is given for a year, irrespective of New Zealand and Queensland, which are unwilling to join. When Parliament meets, the Government will introduce an Irrigation Loan Bill of L 350,000 to meet the obligations of the late Government. Brisbane, November 26.
