Both warships left for Auckland yesterday. ARRIVAL OF THE S.S. AND A. CO.’S NEW STEAMER MAMARI. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s new steamer Mamari, Captain Maxwell, arrived alongside the wharf on Tuesday night. She left London on the 6th November, Teneriffe 13th, Capetown December 7th, and Port Elizabeth on the 14th December for New Zealand. Owing to one of her propellers getting stripped she made for Port Phillip, and after effecting repairs left at 10.20 am on the 10th instant, and reached Napier on Thursday ; left the latter port at 5 pm on Monday and arrived here as above. Tho Mamari i 3 built of steel and was launched on the Ist May, 1889. Her dimensions are : length 360 ft, breadth 42ft depth 31Jft. The engines are of the ordinary expansion 3-crank, and were manufactured by Messrs Doxford. She is fitted for the New Zealand meat trade, and has insulated chambers capable of holding 40,000 carcases. The steamer has no accommodation for passengers, but her officers’ cabins are very commodious. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s chartered barque Teresa Consulich sailed for New York on the 28th December with the following cargo : —1859 bales flax and 39 cases merchandise. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s chartered barque Thyatira, Captain Phillips, arrived in port on the 29th December to load for Boston. She will probably sail in about two weeks’ time. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S. Aorangi, Captain Sutcliffe, entered the harbour at 10 am on the 30th December, from London, via Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart. Variable weather was experienced throughout. Several concerts and dances were held, and passed off successfully. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s ship Duntroon arrived in port from Rio do Janiero on the 9th instant. She is on the berth for London, and will have quick despatch. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s barque Thurso arrived from Dunedin on the 9th January. She is loading for New York, and will have quick despatch. She is loading for London, and will have quick despatch. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s barque Himalaya, Captain Paterson, sailed for London on the 13th inst with the following cargo : 80 casks pelts, 2900 bales wool, 608 bales flax, 47 casks tallow, 16 bales skins, 31 sacks hides, and 16 cases merchandise. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s ship Winifred sailed for London on the 13th inst with the following cargo :—4461 hales wool, 706 bales flax, 318 bales skins.
