A Strange Story.— Two boys, named F. McLougblan and W. Hawthorne, went to the Central' Police Station at 9.15 on Saturday night and informed the watch-house-keeper that there was a dead man lying under a tree in a plantation off Eilice-street. Constable Foley immediately went to the scene, accompanied by the boys. On his way he met Constables Cox and Baskiville, who had received similar in* formation. The boys p :inted out the spot where they had seen the dead man, but he h?d gone in the meantime.
