DETERMINED SUICIDE.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, September 11. A man named Arthur Ernpson committed suicide in a most determined manner at Caversham this morning. He refused a cup of tea in bed from hia. wife, knocking it out of her hand. Ho then got up and went into the kitchen, where he took np a bread knife and made a wound in his throat. She ran out for assistance, when he appears to have taken a combined knife and saw, and used the latter to make a horrible wound. A neighbour was so terrified that he went off for the police and medical assistance, and on hig return the man was dead. Ernpson had a station for seme years at Baiigitata, Canterbury ; he has been in Western Australia, and only came to Dunedin a few weeks ago. He has shown signs of insanity for some time, but his wife thought she could control him.
