(FBOH OTJB OWX 00BRESr6»l>IKt.) ',_ October 11. The Grey town. Cricket Club held thei* annual meeting at the Institute last Monday night. A fair attendance of members wer«; present. J. Tully, Esq., J.P., occupied the chair. The balance-sheet showed liabilities £4, assets £35. According to the report, the Club was successful during the past year in four first-class matches. The bat presented to the Club by Mr Beard, barrister, • was won by Mr Webster, his batting shewing an average of 8£ runs'per innings during the season; the average of Mr Beard was 14£, but his noncompliance with the conditions, he having only played in two matches, precluded the award being made in his favor. The bowling 1 of Messrs Ronaldson and Cuff during the season averaged a little under three runs per/ wicket. The following officers were elected for the coming season :—President, J. Tully, Esq.; Vice-President,. J. P. Russell.:.Esq.? Secretary and Treasurer, T. S. Ronald-: son; Committee, Messrs Wickerson,. Ma., guire, Webster, Cuff, C Beard, Somervillerand HUdy; Practice Captain, T.S.Rpnaldßont Custodian, Mr: Wickerson ; Match Messrs Cuff, Ronaldson, and H. UHjnu Mx. Greytownjuvenile Temperance and Improvement Society held their weekly meeting. The hall was comfortably full, and the evening's entertainment most enjoyable, comprising solos, duets, and quartettes, withharmoninmr accompaniments, played by various of the juvenile members. ' The wedding yesterday was quite a, sensational event in ,the quiet annals of Greytown, , and attracted much attention,; The bride was dressed in ivory . cashmere, trimmed, with cream satin, duchess , lace, and orange bios-, som with lace veil. The bridesmaids were.. dressed in blue sateeq, trimmed with cream duchess lace and hats to match, ornamented, with silver. There were also three tiny... bridesmaids—two dressed in brocaded blue . sateen trimmed with lace, and the third in grey cashmere trimmed with blue sateen, and a little page dressed in ruby velvety After the ceremony the spectators formed a line'on eaoh side of the path leading to the church gate, ; and tendered their good wishes. The gateway ; leading to the ohnrch' was 'decorated with a floral arch, which showed with exceedingly. good effect.
