THE NEW RAILWAY STATION.
We have much pleasure in announcing the intention of the Government to make an early commencement with the erection of the longdelayed and long-promised new railway station. Instructions were issued on Monday to have the plans completed in accordance with the relative positions of the passenger station and the goods shed, both of which will be in juxtaposition, and on the reclaimed land, contiguous to the new pier. Justice to Wellington is at last to be meted out, and we hope the railway station is but the forerunner of other and equally necessary works. Tenders for the new station will be called for in a few days.
