Wallers, stroKe of the Mount .Albert Grammar School eightoar crew, presented a fountain pen to Mr. •A. E. Craies in recognition of his services as coach last season. Waltemata Club.—The opening of the (SOth season was celebrated with old members' day, Mr. T. Marshall, club captain, welcomed the visitors, who included Mr. C. G. Herdman, former chairman of the Auckland Rowing .Association, and representatives of other clubs. The commodore, Mr. G. H. Reston,- gave a resume of the club's history and mentioned that there were .*>B members on active service, seven having lost their lives. On behalf of the members Mr. T. Marshall presented Mr. Reston with an inscribed barometer in recognition of his 50 years' membership of the club.
