FAT STOCK SALES

HIGHER BEEF PRICES Spirited bidding for decreased yardings of beef at the weekly fat stock sales at Westfield yesterday resulted in a greatly improved sale and an all-round increase in prices. Ox beef values improved a further two shillings per 1001b, extra choice ox bringing up to £2 28. The top price for a steer advanced still further to £l9 ss. Quotations for sheep also showed an advance and in a steady sale were slightly better than late rates. Improved values were obtained in a brisk sale of a small number of calves.
