DEATH AT RACES
COLLAPSE ON GRANDSTAND A retired farmer collapsed and died on the crowded grandstand at Alexandra Park, Epsom, on Saturday afternoon about the time of the running of the Jast race at the Auckland Trotting Club's spring meeting. He was Mr. George Henry Hawkes, aged 60, married, of 643 Remuera Road. Resuscitation efforts by members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade were without success.
