The Right Hon. J. G. Coates arrived from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. A. H. Johnstone. K.C., returned from Wellington on Saturday. Brigadier P. H. Bell, D.5.0., officer commanding the Northern Military i)i 3 . trict, returned yesterday from Wellington. a Mr. Justice Northcroft. of Christchurch, is visiting Waimai, in theWaikato, and will return south tonight. Lieutenant - Colonel F. L. Hunt N.Z.S.C., of Wellington, who went overseas as brigade major to the 4th Brigade, has. returned for special services in New Zealand. He left for Wellington last night. Mr. R. P. Kverard, who was horn in Auckland and joined the staff of the Union Bank here _in 1909, has been appointed vice-president and cashier of the Bank of America, one of the large banking corporations of the United States. He lias been associated with banking in the United States-since 1912.
