ITALY APPROACHES TURKEY LONDON, Oct. 22 Admitting a serious food shortage, Italy approached Turkey with a proposal that Italian aeroplanes be exchanged for Turkish ioodstulls, reports the Exchange Telegraph agency's Ankara representative. Turkey demanded that Italy deliver fighters and bombers of an equivalent standard to British aeroplanes, but Italy replied that only second-hand Capronis were available, whereupon Turkey broke oil the negotiations.
