OFFICER PROMOTED

Advice has been received in Auckland that Captain H. C. S. Woolcott has been promoted to the rank of major, New Zealand Engineers. Major Woolcott left New Zealand with the advance party before the first echeion and saw service in Greece and Crete. An old boy of Auckland Grammar School. Major Woolcott received his engineering training in the city engineer's office and later 'was appointed assistant-engineer to the Napier Borough Council. He was afterward engineer at Cheviot. He is the younger son of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. C. Woolcott, of Kenny Road, R emu era. His elder brother, Captain I). Woolcott, who was formerly a teacher at the Auckland Grammar School, also is serving overseas.
