NAVAL COMMISSION

News that her son, Giles C. Haden, has been promoted to the rank of sublieutenant in the R.N.Y.R. has been received by Mrs. J. L. Haden, of 44 Kitchener Road, Milford. Stib-Lieut-enanfc Haden, who is 22, was a schoolteacher before leaving for England in September last year. He was educated at the Takapuna Grammar School, and is a keen yachtsman, being part-owner of a 22ft. yacht until recently. He was also a member of the Pupuke Golt Club. Three of Sub-Lieutenant Haden s brothers also are in the forces. They are, Pilot-Officer S. F. Haden. Bombardier B. M. Haden, and Lance-Bom-bardier L. P. Haden.
