CHURCH YOUTH WORK

NEED FOR LEADERSHIP Demoralisation among the youth of New Zealand was appalling, said the Ilev. P. L. A. Crampton in presenting a report on Church youth work to the assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand in Auckland yesterday. There was a crying need for adequate equipment and qualified and sympathetic leadership. He urged that larger sums should be allocated to youth work and careful selection and training given to those in charge. The assembly decided to take immediate steps to secure the services of a director of work among youth. Four men accepted by the assembly for training for the ministry were Mr. D. Edwards, Whangarei; Mr. P. Tate, Palmerston North; Mr. L. G. Crawford, Hamilton; and Mr. I. Christiansen, Hamilton.
