NEWMARKET ROBBERY

THREE YOUTHS CHARGED REMANDED IN CUSTODY Three youths, aged 15, 16 and 17, appeared before Mr. E. K. Hunt, S.M.. at a special sitting of the Children's Court yesterday. Each was charged with breaking and entering the counting house of E. L. Riley, Limited, at Newmarket, on Sunday, and stealing £l4B 9s 4d, the property of that firm. Detective-Sergeant Nalder appeared for the police. The oldest youth was remanded to appear in the Police Court on October 9, and the other two were remanded to appear in the Children's Court on October 10. They were remanded in custody and the magistrate directed that they should be kept apart from other prisoners. No charge has been made against anyone in connection with the assault on Mr. Riley.
