PRISONERS SENTENCED

SUPREME COURT CASES Three prisoners appeared for sentence before Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday. Ln the case of George Charles Voting, aged •'!<->, labourer (Mr. Robinson), who had pleaded guilty to the theft of £IOO from his former employer, prisoner was released on three years' probation. Ho was ordered to pay £"2O costs, and additional restitution up to £IOO when able to do so. His Honor said that as a result of his offence, prisoner had lost his prospect of obtaining a trainer's or jockey's licence, and had also made substantial restitution. He was in employment and the probation officer reported hiin to be a good husband and father.

"This is a very bad case," His Honor said, in sentencing Valentine Samuel .Won, aged 20 (Mr. Aekins), to three years' hard labour, on a charge of indecent assault on a male.
