IDLE HANDS
Sir, Man.v let tors re manpower and our Government's "all in policy" have been primed. Hut do the people of New Zeal and know that thousands of genuine workers, to-day, roam the streets looking for work? The writer, in desperation, twice attended the Placement Office this week to hoar—wo have not had a job in four weeks. An advertisement appears for a man or men. Ask the advertiser how many applicants reply, 1, like others, am prepared and fit for anything, pick and shovel, if need he, hut personally can go to the other extreme, and, these qualifications can be backed bv Auckland business men.
Now, Labour Government, and all who say, "All in with our hacks to the wall," how many jobs can be available at the Placement Office this afternoon? We New Zealanders who cannot servo overseas are awaiting. Mahimbd, 41 Yf.aks Old.
