MR. MENZIES' BROADCAST

Sir, —I am sure that all who had the good fortune, nay, the privilege of hearing Mr. Menzies' broadcast on Tuesday evening, could not but be impressed with the programme* for the vast reorganisation of the Commonwealth's war etlort. Wo here in New Zealand can well pay heed to all that he said—for Australia being our sister-Dominion, is it not a broad hint or a challenge to us to follow her example? This surely is the conclusion which any rational being will arrive at, and wo will look to the Government for the necessary lead, for although our war effort has beeti good, there are still certain sections of the community who are very apathetic and lethargic.

Thus it is our clear duty to see that the necessary steps are taken for the reorganisation of industry and commerce. to make the war effort into something more concrete and real. viz.. a war sacrifice. This is what it will finally come to Kver.y individual must take and bear an erpial share. So let us all unite, each in his separate sphere, and work -harder and more vigorously for the common good. P. \\ . Nicholson.
