SHOPS IN FLAMES
THREE BUILDINGS SUFFER [BY TEI.EGRAPH — TRESS ASSOCIATION'] I.YVERCARGILL. Tuesday Three shops at Bluff were extensively damaged by fire in the early hours of this morning. They were those of Mrs. G. Kdginton, boot retailer, Mrs. L. Mortimer, cafe proprietress, and Miss L. Dawson, booKseller and stationer. The alarm was given from the watchhouse on the wharf from which flames were seen shooting through the roof of the cafe. Although there was little wind the fire spread rapidly and enveloped shops on either side of the cafe before it could be suppressed.
