Mr. F. L. G. West left for Wellington last night. Mr. W. J. Truscott, president of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association, left for the south last night. Dr. 0. H. Cunningham, director of tho Plant Diseases Bureau, Mount Albert, returned from Wellington yesterday. Major J. Abel, honorary Dominion organiser of the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund appeal, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, lie is at tho Central Hotel. Mr. William Turner, joint general manager of Renter's, Limited, London, was a passenger for Wellington last night. Ho expects to return to Auckland and leave for the United States by the Mariposa next week. Captain E. C. Johnston, assistant director-general of civil aviation in Australia. Mr. A. J. Scott, of the Commonwealth Aviation Department, and Mr. W. Hudson Fysh and Mr. A. E. Rudder, directors of Tasman Empire Airways, Limited, arrived in Auckland from Wellington bv air yesterday and are at the Grand Hotel.
