ARMY EXERCISES
NEXT WEEK'S PLANS UNIT CAMPS ARRANGED An advance party Trill leave the city to-day to prepare for the large-scale Army training which is to begin in the Pukekobe-Pokeno-Tuakau area on Saturday. Several thousand territorials are to take part in exercises, and special bivouacs are being arranged at a number of centres to accommodate the various units when the weather is not suit able for sleeping at battle stations. The unit bivouacs will lie as follows:- —Tuakau. Ist Battalions of the Hauraki and Waikato Regiments, and Bth Field Ambulance, New Zealand Medical Corps. Whangarata: 7th Medium Battery. New Zealand Artillery. Pukekohe racecourse: Ist Battalion, New Zealand Scottish Regiment (Auckland detachment), Ist Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery. Pukekohe Showgrounds: sth Composite Company and Ist Reserve Motor Transport Company, both New Zealand Army Service Corps. Pukekohe: Ist Signals Company. Buckland: Ist Field Company, New Zealand Engineers. Headquarters of the Northern Field Force will' he established 1 at Pukekohe. The Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, and the Ist (Auckland) Battalion, National Military Reserve, will cooperate in the manoeuvres over the week-end. May 31-June 1. Although all the units concerned will be in camp from Saturday next until June 6, the exercises will be spread over the days from May 29 to June 4. I nits will carry out their own training from May 24 until May 29, and from June 4 to 6.
