Black Majesty was soon in front with Nan Vaals and he drew out below the distance to win decisively by a length from Paymaster, who finished in determined fashion. Royal Pilot also ran on solidly lor third and Harmony made up a little ground in the straight tor tounh. Then followed Heroic Star, who looked a likely plncegottor at the distance, Koura I'.ka, .Joy \ aals and (Jolden Survey. Black Majesty is in threat form and should make his presence felt in the open class at Kllerslie. Nicely handled by Mr. R. Nolan, Little Ruse won at long odds in the Waikato Plate, in which the favourites Etruscan and Chain Acre were unplaced. Stylishman carried the field along until reaching the straight, when he weakened, Nithniount, Hunter's Xight and Etruscan then coming to the front. Nithniount looked like winning just inside the distance, but he began to lire and Little Ruse came strongly on the rails to beat him by two lengths. Outsider Victorious Nine started in the Waikato Steeplechase and victory went to the extreme outsider Dark Rose, who paid over a third of a century.
