SUCCESSFUL JIXTUBB INCREASE IN ATTENDANCE HIGH QUALITY OF EXHIBITS rIHOiI Cl'R OWX COJIHESPOXDENTJ PUKEKOHE, Sunday The Clevedon Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 32nd annual show, held on the showground at Clevedon on Saturday, proved an outstanding success. Not only did the entries exceed G2O, 100 more than last year, hut the attendance, 2000, ivas greater in approximately the same proportion. The quality of the prize-winning dairy stock and horses was of a high order. The sheep and pig sections also revealed the standard attained by skilful breeding. This year there were 40 entries in the pig section, and is the highest for at least 20 years. Fine weather throughout made conditions particularly pleasant, and, with excellent organisation, the day's programme was carried through in good stylo. An innovation was a parade of motorised farm machinery in the ring just prior to tSie grand parade. In a large marquee a most interesting exhibit dealing with the scientific side of top-dressing and other aspects of farming had been provided by the Agricultural Department. It attracted much attention. Judges who officiated during the day were: Light horses, Mr. C. Wallace, Papatoetoe; ponies and draught horses, Mr. F. W. W. Storey, Waiuku; Jerseys, Mr. A. Hazelton, Te Aroha; Shorthorns, Mr. L, Batkin, Tuakau; Friesians, Mr. H. Jolly, Waiuku; Ayrshires, Mr. M. 1). Lawton, Waiuku; fat stock, Mr. D. J. Gray. Green Lane; sheep, Mr. C. E. Walter, Pukekohe; pigs, Mr. J. M. Mexico!, Hamilton. The cup for the champion hunter event was won by Mr. H. C. Sutherland's Mack, with Miss D. Weston's Brutus second, and Mr. A. A.
