CREAM GRADING
Sir, —"Another Bewildered Farmer" is only one of many, but ho is lucky in getting 44 for a special test. The factory I supply invariably gives the same test as on the period sheet, usually 3o or MB. My own experience last month was that I was supplying 3-lOlb. cream daily and was given a 3(5 test. 1 thickened the cream to reduce the weight to 2901b. In addition, 1 had an extra 12 cows in, and to my amazement my test was still 3(5. 1 would like to know what is at the back of all this, and perhaps some farmer can suggest how to remedy the matter. Some time ago there was a difference of nearly 8001b. of fat in one mouth between factory and herd-test-iii"' figures. Wo have Government cream graders; it is time we had Government cream testers. Further, a testing officer should be attached to each factory. Hkwii.df.ukd No 3.
