LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
PROGRESS OF PAST YEAR The progress of the past year was reviewed at the annual meeting of the provincial committee of the of Mothers held yesterday at the Y.W.C.A. Mrs. Harvey Turner presided and thanked members for their loyalty and co-operation during the year. The annual report, read by Mrs. W. C. Utting, showed that there were now 45 live branches in the province .with a membership of nearly 2800. During the year the league had helped in patriotic work in fields where it could be of particular service, such as in extending hospitality to soldiers, in visiting families of men serving overseas, and in assisting at the Welcome Club and the Red Cross shops, both in the city and the suburbs. The treasurer, Mrs. D. Silk, presented the balance sheet, which showed the league to be in a sound financial position. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. Harvey Turner; secretary, Mrs. W. C. UttinfC; treasurer, Mrs. D. Silk; assistant secretary, Mrs. J. Pool; stationery secretarv, Mrs. C. H. Furness; magazine secretary, Mrs. A. Wright; report editor. Miss E. W. B. Davis; reporter, Mrs. R. M. Webber; executive, Mrs. T. Charter, Mrs. -T. M. Elliffe, Mrs. S. O. English, Mrs. G H.. Fleming, Mrs. J. Pool. Mrs. J. R. Keyburn, Mrs. D. Silk, Mrs. H. Turner, Mrs. W. C. Utting, Mrs. F. W. Whyte.
