PENWOMEN'S CLUB FAIR
TOO H WORK SUPPORTED Opened by the Mayoress, Lady Davis, a fair organised yesterday by the Penwomen's Club in aid of the Auckland Toe H was an unqualified success. A number of original and entertaining items wan given on the stage during the afternoon and again at night, while a scene of endless activity was presented at all the well-laden stalls. In opening the fair, Lady Davis paid a tribute to the work of Toe H, and commended its activities to the support of those present. The president, Mrs. H. Griffiths, presented a "pedlars' parade" written by herself, in which the "pedlary," dressed in appropriate costume, each recited a verse commending the wares they had for sale, while all joined in the chorus of "Come to the Fair," for which tho soloists were Mrs. G. Richards and Mrs. N. Reece. "There'll Always be an England" was the feature of another item in which Mrs. W. Osborne acted as soloist. Solo dances were presented by little Margaret Heighway, and in the evening a cabaret burlesque was presented by Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
