THEFT TO PAY FINE
[from our own correspondent} AVHANG.AREI, Friday Pleading guilty to the theft of £5 IDs, Robert John Mamv was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour, in the Whangarei,Court. Detective J. B. Finlav said that Mann had stated, when interviewed bv the police that lie had taken, the money to pay a fine of £o, imposed by the Court last week, when he had been convicted for theft. "Last week the Court showed you indulgence, but this you abused," said Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M. "At the age of 23 you have acquired a list of 13 convictions, several for theft and unlawful conversion, while others are still more serious. It I*3 a bad record."
