SOLDIERS' GARDENS
The need for an organisation being set up to attend to the gardens, lawns and hedges of men on active service was referred to at a meeting of the Waikato Zone Patriotic Committee. The Mayor of Hamilton, Mr. H. D. Caro, said that in Hamilton the senior boys of the secondary schools were doing the work, while in some districts members of tho Returned Soldiers' Association were taking an interest in the matter. There was scope for other members of the community to servo in the same capacity.
