OLD TIMBER RAILWAY

The storms of many years have wrought havoc with the old timber railway on the west coast from Karekare to Whatipu. In a few places the trestle on which the lino was carried along the shore is to be seen, but the greater part of it has been buried in the sand or torn away by the breakers.
