LOSS ON STATE HOUSES
Sir, —I would remind "Fair Play" that the question of the respective values of .John Bradburys and Reserve Bank notes, outside the countries of their origin, does not arise ill this discussion. The Government, ho.'using scheme is confined to operations in New Zealand. No provision is made for building houses in other parts of the world. 31 v reference to the John Bradbury incident in the House of Commons, in which Mr. Lloyd George said the whole credit of the country was behind the issue of this new money, was given as a reminder to my opponent that this country is behind the issue of new money for the State housing schemo. Jt was also meant to convey the impression that the Englishman, in declaring his faith in the credit of his country, was in pleasant contrast to those people who like to belittle the credit of New Zealand. J.C.
