AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS WAY WINS THE HEAVY-WEIGHT The annual Auckland provincial amateur wrestling championships wero decided at the Town Hall on Saturday under the control of the Auckland Wrestling Association. Although smallur entries were received from tho provincial towns, all classes wero well filled and very keenly contested. As evidenco of the closeness of the matches, out of 43 bouts, falls were registered in only 22, tho remainder being decided on points. The tournament was concluded on Saturday evening, with tho exicoption of two matches for tho position of runners-up. Following wero tho results:— Heavy-weight.—R. Urlich beat T. Yates by -eno fall, H. Way heat N. Gillott by ono fall, Way beat Yates on points, Urllch beat Gillott on points. Final: Way beat Urlich on points. Light-hcavy-woighl.—C. Carlton boat H. Young by one full, C- Mcintosh beat A. Walker by ono fall. S. Kemp beat H. Young by ono fall, Carlton bent Mcintosh on points. Kemp beat Mcintosh by ono fall, Carlton beat Walker points. Final: Kemp beat Carlton on points. Middle-weight.—H. Shattock beat G. White by ono fall, V. Aspin beat S. Gerlaeh on points, Gorlach beat Shattock by one fall, Aspin won from White by defnult. Final: Aspin boat. Shattock by ono fall, with Gorlach the runner-up. Welter-weight.—A. Nicoll beat A. Lye by one fall, R. McLeod beat F. Lyo on points, G. Lang beat 11. Nelson by ono fall, E. Chcgwedden beat. A. Lyo by ono fall, A. Nicoll beat F. Lyo by one fall, R. McLeod beat 11. Nelson on'points, Lang bent Chcgwedden by one fall, Final; Nicoll boat Lang on points. Light-weight,—K. Hammond on points, Waugh beat Croucher on points, Hawkins beat Lyo on points, Waugh beat Hammond by ono fall.- Finals: Croucher beat Lyo on points, Waugh boat Hawkins by one fall, which mado Waugh tho winner. TO-NIGHT'S BOUT CANCELLED The Auckland Wrestling Association announces that, owing to unforeseen circumstances, the match which was to have taken place at the Town Hall this evening between Earl McCrcady and Joo Corbett has been cancelled.
