FIELD DAY IN AUCKLAND WELLINGTON SIDE'S VISIT The Auckland Basketball Association held its second annual field day at tho Windmill Road courts on Saturday. Teams from all parts of tho provinco competed. Wellington was also represented, and the occasion was an unqualified success. Iho chief attraction was the appearance of a Wellington team, which challenged Auckland, the Now Zealand Cup holders. Tho Wellington team played the Auckland juuior representatives in the morning, and beat tliein 1G goals to 10. In the afternoon Wellington played its big challenge match against tnL- Auckland senior representn-tives, virtually (no same team which won the Now Zealand Cup at Wellington at Easter. Auckland won by 20 goals to 11. The draw for the field day was worked in four grades, and grade three had two sections. The Auckland association provided a representative team from each grade of the ordinary chaniiPionship grades, and country teams made up the remainder of the competitors. At the conclusion of the tourney Mrs. H. D. Muir, the president of the Now Zealand Basketball Association, presented trophies to tho winner of each grade. Tho winners were:—First grade: Matamata.
