POLICE PATROL LAUNCH
CONSIDERATION OF PLAN [BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Thursday An assurance that the provision of a patrol launch for the use df the Auckland police was receiving close attention, particularly because of the war, was given by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Eraser, in the House_of Representatives to-night. The subject was raised by the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates (Opposition —Ivaipara). when the estimates for the Police Department were being considered. Mr. Coates said lie had been informed that some difficulties had been experienced in getting a boat, and he would appreciate a statement by tho Prime Minister. . . , Mr. Eraser said that originally the launch .and yacht owners had supported the proposal. In view of tho war, however, close investigation was being made.
