PLAY IN THE PROVINCE [I'ROM HERALD CORRESPONDENTS] Whangarei.—By defeating Portland *on Saturday, Albion secured the senior B grado championship in the Whangarei cricket competitions for this season. Results of games played were:—Senior B grade: Albion, 00, heat Portland. 52. Combined Services, 03 beat Hikurangi, 00. Junior grado: Central, 115, beat Old Boys-Nomads, 112. Rodney Association. —-Results of matches played on Saturday were as follows:—Mullet Point, 135 (D. Martin 11; W. Dunning three for 48), beat Matakana, 80 (A. Martin four for 14, F. Laurie three for 38). Toinarata 23!) (P. Dunning I'JO, retired. B. Harper 32; J. Hooper five for 32), beat. Glorit. 100 (J.' Hooper 111 not out; P. Dunning five for 82). Kaipara Flats, 180 (J. Mainland 00, H. .Andrews 35; S. Came tiirec for 51), beat Whangaripo, 01 (L. Came 32; FI. Andrews fivo for 40, B. Andrews four for 10), and 110 for four wickets (N. Vipond 80 not out; B. Andrews three for 43). Omaha, 75 (13. Wyatt 30; D. Bell five for 0), and 44 for nino wickets, declared, beat Port Albert, 20 ON. Wyatt fivo for 13, N. Necley four for 0), and 03 (E. Shepherd 37). The threo leading teams in the\ competition are Mullet Point, 27 points; Matakana, 24; Omaha, 22.
