SHIP DESERTER
FORTNIGHT'S IMPRISONMENT Charged with deserting from an overseas British .ship 011 L'ebniar.y 6 at \\ ellington, John Harris, seaman aged -1, appeared before Mr. J. Morling. b.M in the Police Court yesterday. Accused pleaded guilty. An officer from the shipping company said there was a vessel in port on which accused could bo taken from the country. Accused was sentenced to a fortnight's imprisonment and was ordered to Ho placed on board tho ship when it sailed.
