OVERSEAS TOUR
RESIDENTS WELCOMED FUNCTION AT NORTHCOTE A social to welcome Mr. F. A. Garry, principal of the Northcote District JFiigli School, and Mrs. Garry back from a visit to Great Britain and the Continent was held in the Presbyterian Hall at Northcote and was largely attended by a representative gathering. The Rev. S. L. Boot presided. An enjoyable musical programme was contributed by Mrs. T. McKnight, Mrs. H. Cadness, Miss B. George, Mr. R. McGhie and Mr. N. Heath. Mr. Garry, who was recalled from Switzerland when the war broke out, cave an interesting address on the various countries in Europe he had visited. Mrs. Garry was presented with a bouquet by Mrs. S. L. Boot. Supper was served by a ladies' committee.
