AFTER-DEGREE BALL

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DANCE IN COLLEGE HALL A WELCOME RELAXATION The relaxation of dancing alter the examinations which have occupied their time in the past lew weeks was thoroughly enjoyed by the students of the Auckland University College who attended the After-Degree Ball last night in the college hall. Decorations notable for their originality and brilliant colour had been used in the assembly hall, which was arranged to represent a scene from Holland. This had been I'aithfully carried out. even to a windmill erected on the stage, while also on the stage were life-sized figures of Dutch girls in the attractive costume of the land. Members of the orchestra also woie Dutch costume, some of the men even appearing in the quaint cap, voluminous skirts, wooden sabots and long flaxen, plaits of a Dutch maid. Uniform rows of coloured balloons suspended from the ceiling gave a further touch of colour to the scene, while coloured paintings round the walls of windmills, tulips and Dutch figures attracted much interest.
