CZECHOSLOVAKIA'S GOLD

Sir, —In your issue of Thursday you suggest that my argument against the Bank of England handing over the Czecho-Slovak gold was borrowed from Socialist friehds overseas. Every quotation on the matter used by me was from the British House of Commons. I quoted Winston s Churchill, Boothby (both Unionists), Lloyd George and Pethick Lawrence, from the Opposition. My quotations were verbatim from the Journal of the Imperial Parliaments. I also quoted the London Economist. Winston Churchill and Lloyd George argued that directors of the Bank of England had no right to hand trt Germany gold to which Hitler had only a burglar'<> title. Surely banking is not beyond patriotism and its obligations. John A. Lee.
