CENTENNIAL CARNIVAL
FINAL AT END OF MONTH [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Thursday Over £IOOO has already been paid 1 into the central committee by the various candidates' committees in the Wlmngarei Centennial Queen Carnival which is to close at tho end of this month. Added to this amount are the sums of money still held by the various committees. Latest results show the Business Queen at the head of the list with 55,854 votes, followed _ by the County candidate, the Combined Services and Professions' candidate and the Maori candidate in that order. In tho county princess contest, tho Waipu candidate heads the list and in the princess contest _ among tho Maori, the Whangaruru princess is leading.
