FREE EGG MARKET
HIGHER PRICES EXPECTED SUPPLY AND DEMAND TO RULE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A promise that in. future the law of supply and demand will operate in the egg market, and that producers can anticipate a hardening of prices in the near future, was made by the Director of Internal Marketing, Mr. F. Picot, in ail answer to representations by a deputation from the New Zealand Poultry Board. This was disclosed when the deputation reported to a meeting of the board in Wellington to-day. The board contended that decreased production and lower turnover made the price fixed by the price control regulations as that ruling on September 1 no longer economic. Mr. Picot said he had already discussed the position with the Price Tribunal, and there would be no difficulty in that direction.
