RISK OF INSOLVENCY
Sir, —I was much amused at the outburst of the Prime Minister, the Hon.. M. J. Savage, in reference to Mr. Goodfcllow's statement regarding tho financial position of tho Dominion. Abuse gets one nowhere. That this country's finances aro in a doplorabe state cannot be contradicted. Why have tho import restrictions been tightened and that overy-day commodity, tea, practicallv rationed. Mr. Goodfellow having just returned from London is in a position to express ]an opinion and tlie sooner some heed is taken of sound advice instead of abuse there will bo a chance that wo may weather the storm and prevent insolvency, which in our caso boils down to repudiation. Matiere. P- H. Passau.
