Substantial progress during tho year was reported at the fifth annual meeting of tho Waihi Surf and Life-saving Club. Mr. F. Raddings presided. The report showed that extensivo improvements had been made to the clubhouse end .-ulditions made to equipment and that, in spito of the heavy expenditure incurred, there'was a credit balance of £37. Winners of awards during tho season were: Royal Life-saving Society s intermediate certificates and bronze medallions. Misses C. M. Stamp, B. I. McCullough, Messrs, D. Murdoch. I). Giddens; honorary instructor (first class), M. P. D. Home; award of merit. Misses .1, McC'arlliny, M. K. Mullins; Surf Life-saving Association surf medallions, P. D. Home, A.. N. O. Seath, D. Munlock, N T . J. 1!. Woodland, Mrs. 0. Jesney, Misses X. O. Dunstan, M. K. Mullins, J. McCarlhny.
