HONOUR FOR VIVIAN
MEW ZEALAND CRICKETER LORDS AND .COMMONS TEAM [ Fit Oil OUII OWN CORRESPONDENT] LONDON, July 29 A New Zealander played for the fcords and Commons last week in the annual cricket match against the Bjuses of Parliament staff at the Oral. Ho was H. G. Vivian, who recently arrived in England to join Sir Julien Calm's team. The New Zealander was, of courso, not qualified to play for the Lords and Commons, but he did so at the invitation of Lord Ebbisliam. The teams played 13 a-side, but at the last moment two members of Parliament were unable to turn out, aud Sir Julien Calm, a great friend of Lord Ebbisliam, suggested that Vivian should play, and the New Zealander was given a warm welcome. "We were .honoured and delighted to have him," said Lord Ebbisliam. Vivian made 10 before lie was out to what Lord Ebbisliam described as "a very fine catch." Later lie took a turn with the ball, capturing two wickets, one caught and bowled, and the other leg-before. The Lords Commons won bv 86 runs, making IS7 for 10 wickets,* declared, against 101 compiled by the Houses of Parliament staff. Lord Ebbisliam took four for 34.
