DIVORCE GRANTED

LADY MARY GARSIDE EARL OF ONSLOW'S DAUGHTER [fbom our owx correspondent] LONDON, June 2i» A decree nisi was granted to Lady Mary Garside, daughter of the Earl of Onslow, in the Divorce Court this week on the ground of the misconduct of her husband, Mr. George Garside, with Mrs. Mildred Cecile Bryson. The suit was not contested. h Lady Mary was 24 when she married in January, 1933. Mr. Garside was 22 and a second-lieutenant in the Irish Fusiliers, having entered Sandhurst from the ranks. The case for Mary was that she and her husband had a .widely different upbringing and he was irresponsible in regard to money matters. After the birth of their only child, she and her husband lived in tlip Sudan. Differences arose and, as a res-alt, there was a parting. Subsequently petitioner learned that her husband had stayed with Mrs. Brvsoix at a Brighton hotel in April, 1938. Mr. Justice Hodson said he was prepared to exercise discretion in favour of Lady Mary, and pronounce a decree nisi. But he thought it was fair to Mr. Garside to say that Lady Mary had deserted him many years ago and was at that time associating with another man against his wishes. Mr. Garside did not know of the full extent of the association, which had now been disclosed in,. Court. There was no doubt, on the evidence of what the wife did. that Mr. Garside could have obtained a decree against her. He was not prepared to make an order for. costs against Mr. Garside. A decree nisi, with custody of the child of the marriage, was also granted to Mr. Oliver Campbell Bryson, living at Scampton, Lincolnshire, an officer in the Boval Air Force, on the ground of his wife's misconduct with Mr. Garside.
