WORK OF WOMEN'S CLUB The members of the gardening circle of the Rotorua Women's Club entertained members of the gardening circle of the Waihou branch. Women's Division of the Farmers' Union, recently. After lunch had been served the visitors were taken for a drive around Rotorua. A meeting was held later at which ideas were exchanged and short talks on the work of the circles were given by Mrs. Rowbottom. Waihou, and Mrs. J. Tyson, Rotorua. Before leaving, each of the visitors was presented with a posv and a packet of seedlings. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. G. Lodge, Mrs. W. H. Fvans and Mrs. J. Burton.
As a mark of appreciation of the work done by the committee members of the Rotorua Women's Club, members entertained the committee at the monthly social afternoon in the club rooms on Tuesday. Mrs. I. M. Davidson. a foundation member, who presided, commented on the progress that the club had made. The president, Mrs. G. H. French, replied on behalf of the committee and remarked on the happy relations which existed in the club. Two pianoforte solos were played by M iss .June Quinlan; songs were given by Miss Baigent and Mrs. C. Lodge; and Mrs. B. Gordon Fdwards and Miss M. K. Harker gave a dramatised reading of a short play, "The Ape House."
