RECREATIONAL CLUBS
Y.W.C.A. EXTENSION WORK POINT CHEVALIER GATHERING Tn view of the increasing suburban population of Auckland, the Noting Women's Christian Association is planning to extend its recreational activities so that girls ' may have within their neighbourhood the opportunity of belonging to a recreational club. A demonstration of such activities was given this week in the Point Chevalier Sailing Club Hall by a group of senior jjirls from the central body, and sirls living at Point Chevalier' joined in with enthusiasm. On behalf of those present, Mrs. Johnstone welcomed the Young Women's Christian Association leaders, and introduced Miss D. Bates, who is in charge of the extension arrangements. The proposed scheme was outlined by Miss Bates and a suggestion for opening two recreational groups at Point Chevalier, one in the evening for girls over 11 years and the other for schoolgirls, was warmly endorsed.
