Reliability Trial
. A PROVISIONAL RULE The Velocctto Cup reliability trial is to be held by the Auckland MotorCycle Club on Sunday, May 21. It will include numerous mud sections and water splashes not far from the city. All riders are welcome to take part in this event, for which a cup has been presented by Mr. J. Dale for the best novice rider.
Some misunderstanding which has arisen over the deduction of points for brake tests has been eliminated by the introduction of a provisional rule for the trial. Any rider braking before the required distance has been traversed, or falling from the machine during the test, will lose the maximum ten points. For this •trial riders will also have to keep strictly inside the sections marked out by stakes on either side of the section, and any deviation from that course will be taken as the machine being out of control. Competitors are reminded that under club rules competition tyres are allowed in the trial, but riders using them must forfeit 10 points, as it can be well understood they hold a distinct advantage over a man with a machine not so equipped.
